About this trip

You are invited to join a guided personal development program on one of Australia’s most spectacular bush walking trails. A transformational inner and outer journey that follows 72km of the West Macdonald Ranges and begins and ends in Alice Springs.

An Unforgettable Adventure

As part of a small group, you will spend six days walking and luxury camping on the Larapinta Trail whilst being guided through a program on self-leadership, well-being, and personal mastery.

Your Facilitator

Paul is a facilitator, coach and speaker with 30 years' experience developing people in high-performance environments. He helps people reconnect with their strengths, wisdom and purpose — to become more courageous, compassionate and connected to themselves and their 'Tribes' (family, friends, community, business).

What is Self-Leadership?

We are all the CEO of our own life. Self-leadership is the ability to pause, step back, and get clear on where you're going and what matters most. It's a set of habits that make you focused, effective and aware of your impact on others — prioritising your own wellbeing so you can be at your best for everyone else.

Your Accommodation on the Trail

The kitchen, lounge and dining shelter sit on a raised platform, with a shaded lounge for warm afternoons, a heated shelter for cool nights, and a campfire circle to relax around. Composting toilets use a water- and chemical-free system, and hot showers wash away the day's dust.

Custom-built safari tents (3.6m x 1.8m x 2.2m) comfortably sleep two, with a stretcher bed and swag for comfort off the ground — or remove the beds to sleep under the stars. Sturdy canvas offers solid protection if bad weather threatens. (Tents are single occupancy unless travelling with a partner.)

There are 4 exclusive eco-comfort camps in secluded wilderness locations along the trail, staying one or two nights at each. These camps operate in partnership with Aboriginal Traditional Owners and NT Parks and Wildlife, ensuring the benefits of trekking tourism are shared equitably with the Traditional Owners of the land.

(*tents are single occupancy unless you are travelling with a partner).

Meals

Wherever possible we use fresh, locally sourced and carefully selected produce, stored and transported to maintain freshness and quality. There is often plenty of fish, meat or other protein based main dishes and fresh salads. On many trips we re-supply with fresh food every few days however on some more remote trips we may go longer before we can stock up on fresh food.

Our guides have remarkable wilderness culinary skills and pride themselves on the variety and standard of their meals, and the ability to cater to most dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian or gluten free). The following is a general guide:

Breakfasts:

Ranges from cooked eggs and bacon, toast with yummy spreads, to continental (fruit, cereal, yoghurt). Always accompanied by fresh coffee and hot drinks.

Lunches:

Depending on the trip, you may prepare your lunch such as wraps or sandwiches in camp before the day's trek. Or we may have a picnic style lunch on the track with a wide selection of bread rolls, wraps, deli-meats, salads and spreads to prepare a tasty lunch how you like it.

DINNERS 2-3 courses:

The main meal is usually a classic outback style meal such as grilled barramundi, classic Australian camp BBQ, or perhaps a tasty stir-fry.

Let us know your dietary needs at least a month before departure and we'll do our best to cater for them (vegetarian, allergies, intolerances). Options may be limited in remote locations, and we can't guarantee a peanut- or allergen-free trip — travellers with severe allergies should take full medical precautions and carry their own medication.

What you Carry / What to Bring

This is a fully supported trek — you'll only carry a day pack (roughly 5-8kg) with water (2-4L), sunhat, sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, wet-weather layers and personal items. Your main luggage travels by support vehicle — one soft duffle bag per person (no hard suitcases).

You'll need your own walking boots, head-torch, day pack and wind-proof jacket; walking poles are highly recommended for stability and joint support. A full kit list comes with your confirmation documents — please follow it closely for a comfortable trip.

Trip Grading and Preparation

This trek is graded 'medium difficulty', with 5-7 hours of walking each day over rugged terrain, including steep sections. The trail is mostly rocky and mountainous, rising from 680m to over 1,200m, with some flatter, open stretches.

Aim for regular exercise 3-4 times a week beforehand (walking, jogging or cycling), including one weighted day-pack walk (5-7kg) weekly for leg strength and endurance. Best of all: train on similar terrain, in the boots you'll wear on the trail, so both you and your boots are ready.

A slower, more intentional way to explore – where how you feel matters just as much as where you go. We’re here to design journeys that fill your cup, realign your rhythm, and leave a softer footprint behind
